The Best Shopping in Valparaiso

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner and yet, there it is. Not so hard to believe? I still have gifts to get! I’m a little spoiled however to live in the neighborhood I do...right around the corner from so many fun places to shop - each of which is FULL of some of the best gifts for all the people that need one. Here are a few of my favorite Valpo boutiques to peruse this season.
La Maison

Walk-in and you’ll literally smell one of my favorite reasons I love this shop: the candles! The Voluspa line is every bit as chic as the scents elude they might be. The candle containers themselves are so pretty, I’ve never been able to toss them out after using. I’ve found a variety of storage uses...they’re perfect for cotton balls or swabs, a chic place for pens and pencils and are ideal for keys, ear-buds even lip balms. You know, all the things you need daily, but don’t necessarily want out and about, so that your space feels tidy and chic.
I also adore the fact that there's something for everyone so I know I can cross A LOT of people off my list when I shop at La Maison. Shoppers will find a whole corner of the sweetest, softest stuffed animals, and they’ll also find the sassiest printed pillows and dish towels that are sure to garner a giggle (or two).

What’s not to love about Aster + Gray?! Every single thing is ethically sourced but aside from that, it’s all AMAZING! Statement pieces (as in, items that literally say something) are so big right now, and you’ll find a variety of journals and notebooks, shirts and office supplies that are definite statement-makers. Some are motivational and some that will just make you LOL.
Literally, everyone I know is also a fan of The Spoiled Housewife skincare line stocked at Aster + Gray. Not only is it made locally, but it’s also made with ingredients that are actually good for your skin, sans all the yucky chemicals many skincare collections these days are full of.

For your favorite fashionista….or, maybe just because you need a new Christmas outfit, Ivy Boutique is a must-shop spot! Not only can you pick up all of the basics, but you can also grab something to dress up with, a perfect winter sweater, or a fun top for work. Basically anything you need for your closet can be found at Ivy. And while basics are just that, everyone needs that fun little piece that you can’t wait to wear because it makes you feel like a million bucks. Those pieces are sure to be found at Ivy!
I’m currently swooning over the bag collection at Ivy because for some reason, I’m convinced you really can’t have too many bags in your life. While you’re shopping, be sure to check out the jewelry; they do an incredible job of curating bold pieces to accent any look, without crossing that fine line between stylish and gaudy.
