Best NWI Breweries: Zorn, Michigan City

We first discovered Zorn Brew Works at Blue Chip Casino in Michigan City.  Amongst a generous assortment of other craft beers, Zorn stood out. Needless to say, it wasn’t long before we sought out the tap room of the historic Zorn Brewing building on 9th and York streets.

On a sunny spring day, the Zorn sign beckoned us. The patio is expansive and casual with a large fire pit in the center emblazoned with the brewery’s name. It’s the  kind of spot you’d want to spend hours enjoying with friends, especially if the brews keep coming.  And they do...

Stout, Ale, IPA and more are among the exceptional craft beers served up at Zorn. 

Food offerings range from sandwiches to flatbreads and the like. While the eats at Zorn hit the spot, it’s the craft brews that are decidedly the stars at Zorn. 

The scoop: 

Kid-friendly? As kid friendly as a tap room can be. 

Ambiance? Rustic chic, mixed brick and chandeliers.  

Food? Worth eating. 

Drinks? One our favorite NWI breweries.

Etc? If you head to Zorn during warmer months, the outdoor seating area is the place to be. Also, Zorn is very cool space for events. Finally, there’s a generous supply of board games in the tap room for little kids... and big ones.
