Charm'd, I'm Sure! St. Patrick's Day the MidBEST Way at Chicago Pop Up Bar

Variety is the spice of life which explains why, just when you think you've done and seen it all, there's a new adventure to experience in Chicago. Lucky for us, Charm’d, an Irish pop-up bar, has flung open its doors in Wrigleyville, just in time for the big green holiday. And, Charm’d is serving up a rainbow of drinks, eats, flavors and fun sure to make this March 17 golden.

If you missed out on Santa Baby, the Christmas pop up in Chicago that everyone was buzzing about last year, it’s time to make sure you experience some pop up magic. Best of all, Charm’d is actually family friendly although we’d suggest taking kiddos earlier in the day as the party really gets pumping as the evening crawls in.

Charm’d For Kids

It was great to have the option to bring our children to Charm’d and there were certainly lots of other kids there. Ultimately, we agreed that Charm’d is ideally suited to a crazy adult night out but when you can't get a sitter, there's a lot kids will love. (Basically, we want to go again without our kids!)

Thanks to a a big golden ball pit and ice cream shakes the size of their heads, lucky kids will love Charm’d.

Charm’d Eats

Surprisingly good food was the biggest shock about this pop up bar. We crowned the corned beef sandwich, aka the Reuben, the best we’ve ever had. Truly.

The kids enjoyed mini-burgers including sliders on green buns. Even the healthy hummus option was excellent.

Check out the menu, here.

It’s All About Those Cocktails

While we opted for normal sizes cocktails — ahem, thanks kids — we were surrounded by others drinking Moscow Mules out of HUGE copper mugs and GIANT glass jars full of booze, like the Pot Of Gold, a party sized concoction with Jameson Irish Whiskey, Sour, and Orange Juice.

Charm’d is absolutely a place to bring a group of friends hunker down, spend some green and celebrate the Irish way… with lots of alcohol, of course.

What to know: You’ll need tickets to visit Charm’d. It’s free on weekdays and $10 on weekends, but be sure to register for tickets either way. Get them here. Charm’d takes the Leprechauns and packs up for good March 31 so visit before then!
